Like Christmas, Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) comes just once a year!
This year that day is Saturday, May 7, 2011- so mark your calendars!
Eventhough our store opens at 12 noon and closes at 6 PM on a regular Saturday, our FCBD event will start at 6 PM and run until 8 PM! You’ll have two hours to visit us and choose some truly great comics- for free!
Not everything in the store is Free! If it were, then we wouldn’t be around for the next FCBD. Â We received several small shipments of items that have been marked “FCBD” that we will give out to the general public. Due to these “small” shipments, we have a strict limit of 3 items per person- no exceptions.
If you have a comic account with us, there will be a special day that you can view all of the FCBD material before the general public- just ask us, but again this is for account holders only!
Why start our FCBD so late? Mainly because this year it falls on the same day as our “New Phyrexia” Prerelease (which starts at 10 AM and runs until 6 PM) for Magic: The Gathering– so we will most definitely be very busy. Rather than try to juggle two very large and high profile events, we’ve decided to stagger them so they don’t actually occur at the same time. Now, if you’re a Magic player, then this is a win-win situation; you get to play in a Prerelease and then enjoy some free comics afterwards!
So, I appreciate your patience and understanding, and I hope to see you at FCBD!
