And The Winner (Of Our Terrain Building Contest) Is…

And The Winner Is

The winner of our first Terrain Building Contest is: BRYAN F.! Bryan walked away with the first place prize of a $20 gift card with 31 votes (an average of 2.58 votes/day)! Great job, Bryan! Adriaan R. came in second place with 18 votes (1.8 votes/day) and received a $10 gift card for his beautiful terrain piece. Tim M. was third with 17 votes (3.4 votes/day), Karl P. was fourth with 8 votes (1.41 votes/day), Marco U. was tied for fifth with 5 votes (0.71 votes/day) and Kyle D had 5 votes (5 votes/day)!

Thanks to all who entered, I hope you had a great time putting together your entries! We will definiately put your terrain to good use in all of our upcoming events!

I do have a few suggestions for anyone who wants to enter in our future painting contests and terrain building contests:

1. Enter Early: part of the reason for Bryan’s succes was that he was the first to enter and had the longest amount of time in the showcase, therefore more people saw his entry and consequently more people voted for him.

2. Bring Friends: It’s easier for people who live close by, but the purpose for this contest was to give our WarHammer events some more exposure and show people how creative and fun the game really is! Bringing family, friends, classmates, neighbors, etc was a big part of why Bryan won.

3. Be Unique: Your entry has to stand out in some way. Using vibrant colors or having a dynamic design really helps getting people to notice you.

4. Get Help: Don’t be afraid to ask for help. I’m sure most (if not all) our entrants received help from a parent or a friend. Having more people involved in your project will give you a larger pool of talent to work with. If I have the time, I am totally willing to help anyone entered in our future contests out too.

5. Have A Plan: Start with a clear idea of what you want to do and then make a plan so that you can reach that goal. Get it down on paper so you don’t forget and that way it will be easier for other people on your team to understand what you’re trying to do.

Thanks again, everyone and I hope to see you all at our WarHammer 40K Painting Contest!
