Merry Christmas, all!
Hope to see you at our Christmas Party (Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1 PM)!

Hello!
First, I think it’s important to acknowledge the fine work that all of our Dungeon Masters (DMs) have done for us in the past: take a bow Matt L, Pierre L, and Peter W! Without your dedication to this game, we would not be here to talk about the future. Also, thank you to all of the players, without your involvement there would be no game to play.
Second, apologies go out to Peter W and Paul D. It was not my intention to overwhelm your game with new players or to ruin your gaming experience with an influx of younger people. For both things, I am very sorry. You have to understand that I RAVE about Peter (and Matt L and Pierre L)! They’re great people- doing incredible work for the D&D community! And, as you saw last Thursday night, a lot of people wanted to experience the game that Peter is hosting. I honestly thought we would have 4-6 people (including the new players) show up given the rotating nature of the game: some of our regulars haven’t shown up in a couple weeks! Anyways, Peter and Paul- I should’ve messaged you, this won’t happen again!
Third, to all of the new players I can promise that as long as you continue to make your purchases here, I will have a gaming group ready for you. Funny how some parents rush out to Chapters or to our competition to buy their D&D books and then send their kids to me to be entertained. While, I can understand this if my prices were high or if we weren’t supporting the game with a game session, the truth is: all of our D&D books are price BELOW US retail and we’ve hosting D&D Encounters since it started. we don’t charge to play D&D Encounters and don’t charge membership fees either. Go figure.
At the moment, I am waiting to hear back from a young person who expressed an interest in hosting. In the meantime, I will start Season 3: “The Keep On The Borderlands” over at Session 1. Our first meeting is this Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 6 PM. Please post on our D&D Forum Group (community.wizards.com/thground_dnd)!
Forth, to our original D&D group, I can promise you that your gaming experience will go undisturbed. You are welcome to continue your sessions on Thursday nights as well hosted by one of the best DMs I’ve ever seen, Peter! (See you Thursday, guys!)
I await your comments, concerns, death threats and e-mail bombs.
Thanks for reading and see you at the games!
Regards,
iRoy

November 19, 2010 is when Wizards Of The Coast (WOTC) releases their latest gift set which is just in time for the holidays! Why is a “Premium” deck? Why because all of the cards inside this deck are FOIL! That’s right! Every single card is made up of shiny goodness! Check out the deck list:

Hope everyone is enjoying the new AMC TV series, “Walking Dead” (Check your TV listing for showtimes).
If you can’t get enough of this great show, then pick up the comic that the show is based on. There are 12 volumes of graphic novels (or collected editions or tradepaperbacks) that are currently available here. The first volume is only $9.99 CAN and will probably cover the first season of the TV show.
Still not enough? There are two other titles that we are currently stocking: one far more extreme in story, gore, and violence than the “Walking Dead” series. Want to know what they are? Just come by!
**In case anyone has missed an episode, we currently have the first 2 on our PVR, so you can watch the shows here provided there isn’t an event already planned at the time**

It had to happen sooner or later: our comicbook shipment for the week of November 10, 2010 was lost- now found!
After several calls and much worrying I can confirm that 80% of the lost shipment will arrive the following week with our , November 17, 2010 comicbook shipment! With the remainder arriving the week afterwards, November 24, 2010! Unfortunately, there was a single item that will go to “backorder” (meaning that it will unlikely arrive).
So, to everyone that came to pick up their comics and were disappointed, I sincerely apologize! And, I hope t osee you all next week with our now double-sized comic shipment!

iRoy
Hope everyone is ready for a safe and happy Halloween!
We will be celebrating Halloween from Noon to 8 PM on Sunday, October 31, 2010 so feel free to drop by and have some candy and grab a loot bag! Don’t forget to watch “Walking Dead” on AMC later on Halloween night!
Picture above is Logan KÂ as Jace Beleren! This costume is truy amazing and the picture does not do it justice! Shaun and Kelly (Logan’s mom and dad) were telling me it took a few days to put together- there is just so much detail in the lining of the hood and the brooches, Just a truly great costume! Nice work you guys!

UPDATE: Fixed the usable sets in Type 2- origianlly I had listed “Alara” block as in Type 2, but they rotated out at the start of the month. My mistake.
I’m sure everyone is eager to play with their new cards! So, here’s the perfect opportunity to build a new Type 2 / Standard deck with a twist! You can choose to play either a Mirran-affiliated deck or a Phyrexia-affiliated deck (rules below!), what better way to get the feel for this new “Mirrodin” set?
This Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1 PM we are hosting a “Scars Of Mirrodin” Game Day! It will be no charge to play (FREE!) and the good people at Wizards Of The Coast (WOTC) were kind enough to send us some amazing new cards to give away as prizes (including a preview card of the next Magic set called, “Mirrodin Besieged“)! Here’s a great link with tons of information on this great artifact block:
